Podcast Guest: Johanna Chavez Lares
We are starting the year with an amazing interview directly from Canada, Johanna Chavez Lares. Together we will review what does it entail to work with 70 years old pipelines; among many other things as a #womaninstem with experience in South and North America.
Johanna Chavez Lares is a Corrosion Specialist with a Chemical Engineering bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Corrosion. She is also certified as Cathodic Protection Specialist by AMPP and in Risk Based Inspection by API. She started her professional path in 2005 in the Oil and Gas industry at Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), where she developed Risked Based Inspection plans for static equipment, failure analysis and corrosion control by cathodic protection and coatings.
She has been a member of the Canadian engineering scene since 2011, when she started working at Englobe and then at Norda Stelo. She has worked on the design, evaluation and troubleshooting of cathodic protection systems, Risk based inspection analysis of static equipment, corrosion related root cause analysis, among others, for several clients.
Her chemical engineering background also allowed her to run the corrosion laboratory at Englobe.
